Located about 30km from Cape Town city centre, Wolwerivier is a low-cost housing development for people who have been evicted, mostly from informal settlements, and have nowhere else to go.

But within these dust ridden streets, the home of Magdalene Minnaar is an oasis. Here, once a month, the scent of milktarts, cupcakes, or doughnuts can be discovered.
